I usually say “maff”, but I have to enunciate clearly so no one thinks I’m saying “MAP”.

I usually refer to it as a “MAF sensor”. I treat it as an acronym, like HVAC, NASA or COPO.

Mass Airflow.

Too easy to confuse with other parts, especially when the tech has a mouthful of chew and MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sounds like MAF.

Also, TPS and TPMS get mixed up easily, I always try to clarify.
